What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a wholistic healthcare approach to treating each patient as an individual with their own distinct needs.
AK utilizes manual muscle testing in order to determine the signal functioning within the nervous system of the individual under care. Muscle strength and weakness are utilized as signposts representing different aspects of how well the human body is functioning.
The capacity of the muscles to contract in the presence of different stimuli becomes an indicator of the nervous system’s ability and function. AK practitioners may challenge the nervous system by exposing it to certain environmental, dietary, or even emotional factors to see if they “weaken” a previously strong muscle.
Another way to phrase this would be to say that AK, or muscle testing, is a way to speak directly with the nervous system, and listen to what it says back in response - the game then becomes learning what the questions are that one needs to ask to move towards a more ideal expression of healing and transformation for each unique individual.
The human body is a self-healing system - when you get a cut, for example, that cut heals on its own.
In the ideal situation, this should be true of every injury and every incident that leads to a less than ideal expression of health -
it heals on its own.
The purpose of Applied Kinesiology, in it’s many different techniques and approaches, is to determine exactly what it is that is getting in the way of that natural healing process - by engaging in conversation with the nervous system and learning to hear its responses clearly enough to meet any currently unmet needs.
You can think of it like a radio signal -
If the signal isn’t properly sent out or received, then the song that you hear may be muffled, fuzzy, coming in and out, or just generally not sounding quite right. If you can fix the signal, then you can fix the song that you hear.
In this case you are like the song that is playing over the radio - and the end goal of Applied Kinesiology is to allow you to be heard and expressed as clearly, fully, and resonantly as possible.
Our goal is to have the song that is the expression of you reverberate through the concert hall of life for all to hear and enjoy to its fullest potential.
