What is N.I.S.?
Neurological Integrative Systems (N.I.S., or Neurolink) is a method of Muscle Testing which aims to reconnect deficient neurologic signaling between the brain and body, developed by Dr. Alan K. Phillips, D.O.
The best analogy for how N.I.S. gets to the root cause of pain is to compare the human body to your home.
Your house has an electrical system set up to power everything in your home - from your television, to your refrigerator, to your a/c, to every single outlet.
Your brain and nervous system does very much the same for your body - it sends the signals to the organs, muscles, and various other structures of the body in order to tell them what to do and exactly how to do it.
So, what happens when you put too much stress on the electrical system of your home?
Let’s say you plug one too many hairdryers into the outlet in your bathroom and turn them all on at the same time -
ZZZAP
You just blew a fuse!
Now all of the power is out on that side of your house, and it will stay that way until someone goes into the circuit panel in your garage, and flips the switch that lets everything in your home turn back on.
-
In the very same way - too much stress in one specific area of the nervous system can blow a fuse within your brains’ ability to send the signals to your body that tell it what to do!
Let’s say, for example - there’s a stress on the nervous system that blows a fuse between the brain and the muscles in your right leg.
That means your right leg will be neurologically weaker (that leg will be “turned off”) - so you will probably be putting more weight on your left leg to compensate, because it is stronger and more stable.
So in this example your foundation is off, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.
Because your body is built to be upright, over time this could become a cause of pain along the spine.
What if it were easy to flip the switch in the circuit panel of your brain, in order to turn the muscles of that leg back on, and relieve the root cause of the pain in the spine?
An N.I.S. practitioner checks various reflexes of the body in order to go into the metaphorical circuit panel of the brain, flip any fuses that have been blown back on, and in response the brain restores any impaired signaling to the rest of the body.
“Linking the brain to become congruent with neurological, physiological, emotional and pathological patterns that will collectively restore homeostasis.”
